description RENFE 252 Overview

The RENFE Class 252 is a family of electric locomotives built for Spain in the early 1990s by a consortium involving Siemens, Krauss-Maffei, CAF, and other manufacturers. Derived from Siemens' EuroSprinter technology, the class was supplied in versions compatible with Spain's conventional broad-gauge network and the standard-gauge high-speed network. Rated for speeds up to 220 km/h, the locomotives have worked long-distance passenger trains as well as freight services for RENFE.
