Scabrella

description Scabrella Overview

Scabrella is an extinct homalonotid trilobite genus in the order Phacopida, known from Lower Devonian rocks of North Africa and western and southern Europe. Moroccan material comes from the late Emsian Issimour section near Alnif, where limestone beds have yielded cranidia and pygidia. The genus is noted for its long, strongly spined exoskeleton, and its distribution has been used in discussions of Early Devonian stratigraphy and correlation.
