The shagreen ray, or shagreen skate, is the species Leucoraja fullonica, a member of the skate family Rajidae. It inhabits the northeastern Atlantic from northern European waters toward Morocco and also occurs in parts of the western Mediterranean, generally on the seabed from tens to several hundred metres deep. Its name refers to the rough, shagreen-like texture produced by dense denticles on much of the upper surface.
