The speckled worm eel (Myrophis punctatus) is a snake eel in the family Ophichthidae, described by Christian Frederik Lütken in 1852. It inhabits benthic marine and brackish environments in the western Atlantic, from Bermuda and North Carolina through the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean and Central America to Brazil. The species has a pointed snout, a brown back covered with small dark spots and a lighter underside, and reaches about 35 cm. [FishBase](https://www.fishbase.se/summary/2652)
