description STEREO-B Overview
STEREO-B, also called STEREO Behind, is one of two nearly identical NASA spacecraft launched in 2006 to observe the Sun from separated positions in heliocentric orbit. Together with STEREO-A, it enabled three-dimensional studies of solar eruptions and the space weather they generate. Contact was lost in 2014, briefly recovered in August 2016, and lost again shortly afterward despite subsequent recovery attempts.
