Wind Ridge

Wind Ridge is a well-established traditional (trad) climbing route located within Eldorado Canyon State Park in Colorado. The canyon is famous worldwide for its golden sandstone cliffs and incredibly rich climbing history. It remains one of the state's most popular and consistently climbed traditional multi-pitch routes.

Wind Ridge offers a sustained challenge across exactly five distinct pitches. Climbers must set up multiple belay stations as they ascend the beautiful Sedimentary sandstone rock. The five-pitch layout makes it an excellent full-day climb for intermediate trad climbers.

Wind Ridge is generally rated as a 5.5 in the Yosemite Decimal System, making it a highly accessible climb for intermediate leaders. Despite its moderate grade, the route's accessibility and length make it incredibly popular. Climbers should still be prepared for the exposed, traditional climbing environment of Eldorado Canyon.

Because Wind Ridge is a traditional climbing route, a standard trad rack is required to protect the climb. Climbers will need to carry a variety of nuts, cams, and quickdraws to safely set up their anchors across the five pitches. A 60-meter climbing rope is also essential to manage the long rappels and pitches.
