description RHESSI Overview

RHESSI, the Reuven Ramaty High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager, was a NASA spacecraft launched in 2002 to study energetic events on the Sun. It observed solar flares in X-rays and gamma rays, using rotating modulation collimators and germanium detectors to combine imaging with detailed spectroscopy. The mission examined how particles are accelerated and energy is released during flares, and it operated until communications problems ended observations in 2018.
