Ptychoparia

description Ptychoparia Overview

Ptychoparia is a genus of Middle Cambrian trilobites from Bohemia and other Cambrian fossil localities. It is the type genus of Ptychopariida, a major trilobite order that includes a wide range of forms and became one of the most diverse groups in trilobite classification. Ptychoparia is therefore important both as a fossil organism and as the taxonomic reference attached to the name of the order.
